Ingredients:
1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar
1 cup white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
1 1/2 cups bread flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp soda
3 cups quick cooking rolled oats
1/2 cup walnuts
Method:
Cream shortening and sugars, then add eggs and vanilla. Beat until fluffy. Add sifted dry ingredients. Stir in rolled oats and nuts. Form dough in rolls 1 – 1 1/2 inch in diameter. Wrap in waxed paper, aluminium foil, or saran wrap. Chill thoroughly. With sharp knife slice 1/4 inch thick. Back on ungreased cookie sheet at 350°F for 10 minutes.
