Cherry Slice

Cream together until light and fluffy:

1 cup butter or margarine

1 3/4 cup white sugar

4 eggs

1 tsp vanilla


2 1/2 cup all purpose flour

1 1/2 tsp baking powder

pinch of salt

Reserve 1 1/2 cups of batter. Spread remaining batter on greased cookie sheet. Spread 1 can cherry pie filling over batter. Drop reserved batter by the spoonful over pie filler; spread carefully.

Bake at 350 degrees for 40 mins.

Drizzle with butter icing when done (with almond flavouring).
