Cranberry Sauce

A true family favourite to accompany turkey or pork roast at Thanksgiving and Christmas.


3 cups cranberries  (= 12 oz. or 340 grams)

1 cup sugar

1 cup water

2 Tbsp orange zest



Rinse and pick over to remove any spoiled berries and stems .

Mix the sugar and water in a heavy saucepan and boil for 5 minutes.

Add the berries and return to a boil.  Boil for 10 minutes.

Remove from the heat and mix in the orange zest.  When slightly cool, place in a serving bowl and refrigerate.   Makes about 2 ½ cups.
